Every week for the month of April, 3rd graders from Kilohana Elementary School have come down to visit Keawanui! So far they have learned about limu ʻeleʻele and native Hawaiian plants, clearing bull rush from the punawai, and making banana heart fertilizer.
As we teach our keiki to mālama the ʻāina of Keawanui, Keawanui feeds and nourishes us and our families. This relationship is a critical part of rehabilitating the land and our people.
